Seattle is the heart of Washington state. This large city has such a wide variety of things to offer any local or out of state traveler. Seattle has always been a city filled with endless opportunities. With thrilling activities, Seattle is constantly offering different things throughout its city walls. Let’s just say, you’ll never get bored when visiting. Another thing that makes Seattle so popular is the wide range of food it can offer. So many places to visit with food from different cultures, different cities and different ways of life. It gives people the opportunity to really dive into food they may not find in their local area. Growing up in Washington, we would visit Seattle very often. I grew up about half an hour from the grit city and each time I have went I experience new and exciting things while also still being able to enjoy my favorites. So what do you think? Should we dive deeper into the city? You know what I always say… why be boring when you could be exploring! Here are the BEST things to do when visiting Seattle.
Lets start with some of the best known things Seattle has to offer. Seattle is a very big tourist city. With so many things to offer it really gives visitors a stand out visit.

The Space Needle:
The Space Needle is one of the most recognizable landmarks in the world and is a treasured Seattle icon. Since its grand opening on April 21, 1962, the landmark continues to symbolize the innovative and forward-thinking spirit of Seattle. Located at Seattle Center, the Space Needle stands at 605 feet tall and is one of the most photographed structures in the world. The Space Needle started on a multi-year. The renovation, includes multi-level, floor-to-ceiling glass viewing experiences including an upper level outdoor observation deck with open-air glass walls and Skyriser glass benches. The world’s first, and only, rotating glass floor below. The new glass floor experience opened up a never-before-seen downward view of the structure and the surrounding area, putting Seattle, literally, at your feet.
Pike Place Market:
Pike Place Market has been a Seattle icon for more than a century. Pike Place is know as “the soul of Seattle,” the market can be found at the center of downtown where everyday locals and tourists alike shop, visit, eat and discover. Pike Place has a wide range of things to offer to the public. With local artist selling some of the most breathtaking pieces, wide range of shopping including the most popular - The Flowers of Pike Place. Pike Place is home to one of the most famous things in America. THIS is where you can see fisherman sing chant and TOSS HUGE fish back and forth to one another! Its a sight to see if I do say so myself. This brings such a fun and unique spirit to Pike Place. The market also offers many different types of cuisine with plenty of stop and eat locations and dining. PLENTY to eat and try when visiting the market. You will experience food in a way you have never before.
The Gum Wall:
The famous Gum Wall can be found directly under Pike Place Market! There will be a staircase directly next to the stand where they toss the fish at the main entrance of the market. Follow this staircase down to the alley where you'll find one of the nastiest, and thrilling sights to see. Make sure to bring some gum with you so you can stamp your mark on history by adding your very own piece of gum to this sticky landmark!
Museum of Pop Culture or MoPOP:
The Museum of Pop Culture or MoPOP is a nonprofit museum in Seattle, Washington, dedicated to contemporary popular culture. This artistic paradise is home to some of the coolest events. Recently it hosted the Disney Heroes & Villains costume display. This is a wonder experience for all ages. Dive deep into pop culture and some of its most iconic moments as you explore all that MoPOP has to offer.

The First Ever Starbucks in Pike Place Market & The Starbucks Reserve.
The First Ever Starbucks THATS RIGHT it started right here in Seattle. A tiny little thing isn't it! PRO TIP: The shop itself is extremely tiny and they form the line outside on the street. This line can range from short to extremely long and can have long wait times. They do sell coffee and a few Starbucks mugs. However if you just want coffee there is another Starbucks across from the main entrance of Pike Place. Make sure to check out the Logo on the store though because its the original Starbucks label. Another amazing spot that offers something you don't see in most places is The Starbucks Reserve. Here you can enjoy a sit down lunch with a wide selection of food. You can get drinks you wont regularly find at your local Starbucks and they have a wide selection of merchandise you cant get anywhere else. Take a seat grab a lunch and enjoy the environment this stunning builder offers while watching coffee grounds be produced! A for sure thing to add to your list if you're a fan of coffee!
A few other popular things Seattle is known for would be The Bite of Seattle. This event is Seattle's Premier Food & Beverage Festival! Usually happening in July. Check before scheduling your trip! Another huge event that happens in Seattle is The LGBTQIA+ Pride Parade that happens in June. Seattle is a proud state to represent all people and cultures, Genders and Sexualities. It is a loving place with a lot to offer. Come enjoy and celebrate with us in these must see events.
